Admissions

Admission to our Early Years

We can't wait to welcome you into school and help you start your educational journey….

  • To help you make your decision about choosing the right setting for your child, we offer open days over the year for those considering us and would like to see us in action. This helps us to begin making links with our families and children.
  • Prior to starting with us, we offer every child and family a home visit carried out by the Nursery teacher and TA, where we get to meet you and your child in a familiar environment. During this meeting, we will discuss your child's needs, interests and difficulties as well as answering your questions.
  • We also invite children and families into school for 'visit sessions' so that all children get the chance to meet their new friends and explore the setting.
  • We have strong links with nearby private settings that bring the children for transition visits prior to starting. We also have professional discussions to gather as much information about the children as we can.
  • When your child first starts with us, they will have an induction programme to help them settle, this may look different for different children. Parents are welcome to stay with their child to ease them into school.  This period of time is very important and allows your child to get to know the new setting while being reassured by your presence. Our staff will work with you and together you will come up with a plan for withdrawing from your child when he or she is ready.

To enquire about a school place, please call our school office on 016973 31243.

Admission to Nursery

We offer our own purpose built nursery for children aged 3-4 years.

We provide the Government funded 15 hours for all 3-4 year olds. We also offer school lunches in the school hall which extends the 15 hours to 20 hours a week or for those not eligible, for a small fee which includes the cost of childcare and a school meal.

Children can join our Nursery from the term after their 3rd birthday. We accept application forms from the year prior to starting.  We advise sending your applications in with at least 2 terms notice.  Completed forms should be returned directly to school. You will also need to provide proof of your address and your child's date of birth.
